Upcoming Major New Zealand Sports & Events

Cricket

New Zealand's cricket team is back in action this week as they take on England in the second of three Tests.

New Zealand were beaten by 115 runs in the first Test as England secured victory in a Test hugely impacted by the rain and pitch conditions. However, with Ben Stokes and key wicket-taker Ollie Robinson missing, the second Test between New Zealand and England will likely be very tight.

You can also see India hosting Afghanistan in the 50 over game with the former 1-0 up after one game. Bangladesh and Australia begin their three-match T20 series this week following the former winning their ODI series 2-1.

The Women's T20 World Cup began last week with the best players in the women's game descending on stadiums across England and Wales. New Zealand face an uphill task after losing their opener against the West Indies. New Zealand will take on Sri Lanka and Ireland this week as they search for two crucial wins.

Rugby Union

2026 Super Rugby is now at the grand finals. The last-four saw the Crusaders hammered 49-12 by the Chiefs as the Hurricanes brushed the Blues aside in a dominant 57-21 win.

The final, which will be played in Wellington, will see top side Hurricanes playing second placed Chiefs on Saturday.

The final of the United Rugby Championship takes place this week as Irish side Leinster face South Africa outfit the Bulls in Dublin. Meanwhile, the Prem Rugby season comes to an end as Northampton take on surprise package Exeter at Twickenham.

Rugby League

The NRL season has seen the Panthers top the ladder with 12 wins from 13 games. However, things are incredibly tight below them with a number of teams impressing so far.

This week will see the Titans hosting top side the Panthers while the Warriors look to return to winning ways against the Cowboys.

New Zealand And European Football

Alongside the A-League, all of the major domestic soccer leagues have come to an end. This sets up a summer that boasts the FIFA World Cup.

With the showpiece event underway, New Zealand will get going against Iran on Tuesday as they look to get out of a tough group that also contains Egypt and Belgium.

Tennis

Attention will begin to turn towards Wimbledon in London at the end of June, with tournaments including Queen's Club, the Nottingham Open and Halle Open seeing players return to grass courts.

F1

The Austrian GP will take place on June 29 at the Red Bull Ring following Lewis Hamilton winning the Spanish GP on June 15.
