With the season well underway, the Chiefs are the current favourites to triumph in the 2025 Grand Final, but are they the side to back as we edge towards the showpiece event?

The Super Rugby season is already heating up, with the Chiefs installed as the favourites to secure the crown. Their odds of 2.38 see them at the head of the betting, but they are not clear of all challengers.
Indeed, the Crusaders are right behind the Chiefs in the betting. The Crusaders suffered a horrendous campaign last time out as they missed out on the playoff spots. Their ninth-placed finish saw them notch just 24 points in 14 games, a total they have already breezed past after nine matches.
The Blues and the Brumbies are next in the betting below 10.00, while the Reds and Hurricanes are the next options above 10.00.
The interesting prospect in the betting is the Blues. The side won the Grand Final in 2024 as they finished second on the ladder before beating Fijian Drua, the Brumbies and the Chiefs. The latter was a crushing 41-10 win in the Grand Final as the Blues put their trophy winning credentials on full show.
This term, the Chiefs and Crusaders are fancied to have better seasons and potentially win the trophy. However, you simply cannot rule the Blues out. Their exploits last year mean that if they finish in the playoff spots, then they will be a real threat.
