We have the latest Super Rugby Week 9 betting tips for each of the later games as the competition heats up.
Blues vs Moana Pasifika
After a bumpy start to the season, Moana Pasifika arrive on the back of two impressive wins over the Crusaders (45-29) and the Waratahs (45-28). These victories have sent the travelling side hurtling up to eighth on the ladder with 15 points, well clear of Fijian Drua at the bottom.
Meanwhile, the home side finally got back to winning ways as they ended a three-game losing run by edging past the Hurricanes 19-18. While the Blues are now looking to make it two consecutive wins at home, I do not predict a hugely comfortable victory. The Blues have won all four of their matches against the away side, but with Moana Pasifika in good form, I predict a close game.
Highlanders vs Fijian Drua
After a torrid run in Super Rugby, this is the perfect chance for the Highlanders to get back to winning ways. Defeats to the Hurricanes, Reds, Brumbies and Force means the home side have slipped down to ninth on the ladder, 14 points behind the Chiefs at the summit.
Fijian Drua arrive with a single win to their name in seven matches. Their last away game ended in a crushing 52-15 loss at the hands of the Force, with all four of their matches on the road ending in defeat.
The Highlanders have won all three of their matches against their opponents, with the last two seeing the side win by 33 points or more. I predict backing the Highlanders with a handicap is the way to go in this one.
Reds vs Brumbies
The Reds host the Brumbies in a hugely intriguing encounter that will test two of the better sides in Super Rugby this season.
The Reds saw a three-game winning run brought to an end last time out as they were swatted aside by the Chiefs (27-15). The Brumbies come into this match having won three of their last four, although they were beaten by the Waratahs in their last away game.
While I predict that home advantage will see each of the three matches kept tight, the Brumbies have had the better of their opponents of late. In fact, the Brumbies have won on their last two trips to face the Reds, while they have won their last three against their opponents.
Verdict
I back the Blues to beat Moana Pasifika in a very tight match, while I foresee a comfortable win for the Highlanders.
The Reds and the Brumbies will likely serve up an entertaining encounter, and I back the away side to come away with the W.
